lyrics

She dies like a fountain on fire.
The plume above continues, conspires
To the tune of strings that rip apart,
To the score of murder that speaks for art.
My heartbeat stands, it stings and screams
“The end! The end! The end! To me.”
It tells stories that end unhappily,
But they’re more honest for it –
They’re better than lies.
The lyre will come back strangely to me.
It plucks my eyes so that I might see.
The world beyond, the space of dreams
Where blood flows full and tastes of mead.
Turn your regard upon that soul.
That lies broken, used, torn from the road.
Back to the abyss, to the beginning nothing
Where all life is ripped unfair, unfriendly
Back into pain, back into suffering
So we might share something more brotherly
So we might share something more motherly
So we might see spinning worlds unknown
And think to ourselves, “They are all my home.”
